Restoration Work Parties

In conjunction with the 2024 CHE Place-Based Workshop on the UW Arboretum, we are inviting CHE affiliates to join us for the “Restoration Work Parties” at the Wingra Oak Savanna. The Arboretum coordinates these volunteer workdays throughout the year and are an opportunity to engage in some hands-on ecological restoration! We will meet for the Wingra Oak Savanna work party on the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon during the spring semester (March 2, April 6, and May 4).

Volunteers meet at the Arbor Drive parking lot, off Monroe Street, and accessible via the “D” bus line (Stop 2112: Monroe at Glenway) and the Southwest Commuter Bike Path.

Tools, instruction, and refreshments are provided by Arboretum coordinators. Participants are advised to wear long pants, sturdy shoes, work gloves, and seasonally appropriate clothing. Be prepared to work at times on hands and knees.
